Why space is cold if the sun is hot?

Introduction

There are millions of stars in our galaxy. Of course, they look very pretty, they are like jewels of our sky. Now coming to reality whatever we think about them in our fairy world, they are not like that. They are balls of fire, and many of them are so big that if we do a comparison between them and our sun it would be like a tiny mustard in front of the football. So imagine the heat they radiate, but please don't try to imagine because we can't. Even after having all this our space is cold so the question arises why ?.

How do things become hot?

Before knowing why space is chilled, it would be better to know how things become hot. The temperature of any substance rises when it absorbs heat from any source also its temperature may rise if it comes in contact with any other substance whose heat content is higher.

So, if stars are so big then of course they are more hotter, what would be the temperature of the planets around them.

Leave the stars, they are so far from us, let's first talk about our immediate star, "the sun". Let me give you some facts so that you can understand how hot is our sun.

on 4 June 2019, Kuwait was recorded with a temperature of 63° Celsius. At this temperature, we can make a very good tea.

We often hear about water shortage cases in different parts of the world. But worry not this problem will be solved in the near future and it is all because of our sun. Yeah, actually sun knows that Glaciers contain almost 70% of the Earth's freshwater and the sun can't keep us from dying because of water scarcity so it has decided to melt it. The melting glaciers reach the ocean and make it rise by 0.74mm every year.

Another consequence of the increasing temperature is the increase in the number of cases of heat stroke. According to the WHO, more than 1,66,000 people died due to heat waves from 1998-2017.

So, you were thinking that you are here to find out why space is chilled, but actually, I was giving you the idea that our planet is 147.59 million km away from the sun, still, its effect is versatile.

why space is chilled ?

Then why Space is not hot, why its temperature does not rise? The very simple answer to this question is that there is no matter ( space is a vacuum ), and if there is no matter then there is nothing in space that can absorb the radiation from the stars. Basically, there is very very little amount of dust and gas in the space. But they are very very small in number and far from each other that even if they absorb radiation from stars they cannot pass it to the other dust particles. The temperature of the space is approximately -270°F.
